Twenty-four little hours....

What a difference a day makes,

And the difference is

Forty-three degrees, about 150 miles, and a mountain range or two.

Pomp and Circumstance

With summer comes graduations galore, and this year was no exception for our family.

First up was Meg's sweetie Emil graduating UNR with two, count 'em, TWO bachelor of science degrees.  The weather was warm and the campus (which I had never seen, being a UNLV person) is quite lovely.

Emil marching in with his college - no Pomp and Circumstance played, can you believe it?

Megan, me and Stevie waiting, waiting, waiting for Emil's college to get their turn..... (Stevie was wearing grey and red, btw - Rebel colors)

At last!  On to the Ph.D!

We celebrated at a local Mexican restaurant, where Ted and I were able to have some delicious shrimp and I splurged with a "skinny" margarita.

Goofball and her olive

Next up was my graduation from OSU's Master Food Preserver/Safety program.  That class, which I've blogged about in the past, was so much fun I can hardly wait to do some volunteering for the program.

That thing on the right is a steam juicer.  Amazing!

Tons o'jelly
The lovely (and delicious) daikon/carrot pickle I made for my final presentation.  I'm entering these in the local fairs so don't even THINK about it!

My pickle presentation preparation platform (complete with appropriate repast).

My terrific class.  No pomp and circumstance here, either.

Stevie graduated from a white belt to a yellow in karate.

Cutest kid in the class.

Best behaved kid in the class.

Most talented kid in the class.  Are you sensing a theme?

And finally, our Lizzie graduated high school this morning.

FINALLY heard some Pomp and Circumstance!

Proud uncles/foster parents

Jamie, Lizzie, Adam and Brooklyn

Very proud Papa and Grandma.

Our beautiful Vegas/Virginia grandkids (with one great hanging on to dad)

Whew!  A whirlwind of sheepskin and karate belts!
