The Perfect Nap: A Recipe

First, run seven miles on a treadmill in an 80 degree garage the day before.  That's the prep work done.

Then, get up, pull some weeds, scoop some poop, and head into Bend for the Bite of Bend Beer Run.

Note the four - FOUR - beer tickets on the bib.

Working my way to the starting line behind these two.

Sherry and I ran my very first 5K together in Sunriver last year - together again!

This dude's serious about his beer run - he brought his own.
And yes, he ran with that on his shoulder.
And that on his head.

There were over 500 people at the run.
This group was "Buns on the Run"

Henry on his way back

The first beer stop:  Cascade Lakes Brewery tent at mile 1.5.
Cascade Lakes is my VERY favorite Oregon brewery!

This is the 10 Barrel Brewery tent at about mile 2.0.

A view of Mirror Pond, just past the Deschutes Brewery tent.
Deschutes Brewery is - you guessed it....
It was HOT out there, boys and girls.  Must have been 85.
(No laughing from my Vegas peeps)

A big ol' pan of paella at the Barrio cart - had to have some,
I could smell the saffron.

Included in our race registration was a ticket to the NW
Mixology Show area.  This bourbon was quite good.
So after four beers (about 5 ounces each) and a few sips of bourbon, I had the perfect recipe for an afternoon nap.  ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz.  You're welcome.
